Dino PC is part of the Stone Technologies Group. Having acquired the brand in 2019, they have never made the most of the brand or understood how to take it to market.
With the category and industry growth as a whole during the Covid-19 pandemic they saw a clear opportunity to capture market share but needed the right way to get in front of their audience and drive direct returns.
Having run some activity prior but never giving it focus due to it being seen internally as a “sub-brand” of the wider group, they didn’t really know who their audience was. However, they saw Gaming Pcs demand increase as a partial result of the Covid Pandemic.
This renewed focus meant the marketing team where challenged with increasing revenues significantly without a clear understanding of who their audience was and how best to target them.
They needed to be able to identify who out there was buying their products, beyond just labelling them as “Gamers” and then target them, standing out from some of the other big players within the market. And ultimately doing it cost-effectively.
The gaming industry is known for being online, we just needed to get the right products in front of the right people.
By conducting consumer and competitor research we knew there were two distinct buyers: beginners who bought pre-built PCs and hardcore gamers who are wanting components and parts. Both are very different from each other in their behaviour and language.
Knowing this, we targeted each respectively creating a full-funnel strategy which broke each down by their, interest, behaviour and product preference.
Designing unique creative for each part of the funnel, we built awareness, consideration and purchases from day one. Using a mixture of static and video we were able to guide beginners through the buying process whilst being more aggressive with the hardcore games, using catalogue and product-specific ads focussing on components.
The final piece of the account was leveraging their 1st party data for re-marketing and look-a-like audiences. This gave the account the right platform to build from and we saw an immediate uplift as a result.
